Founder of Z Private Post and Caffé, Zion Yohannes was born in Asmara the capital city of Eritrea, Africa's youngest and most vibrant democratic nation on the coast of the Horn of Africa.
Eritrea has a fascinating and surprising history. As a colony of Italy from 1882-1941, Asmara houses one of the most amazing collections of modernist architecture in the world. In this astonishing city of renaissance and modernist architecture one feels as if one is in the heart of Tuscany, a quality that Zion has brought to Cielo Village here in Rancho Santa Fe.
Zion came to the United States in 1976 to study at The University of Texas at El Paso and has had many career incarnations in fields from marketing, software applications and telecommunications to food service.
Traveling is one of Zion's passions which has taken her to many countries of western Europe and to almost every one of the states in the US giving her a rich cultural understanding that she brings to Z Private Post and Caffé.
Since Italy is home for the world's best coffee, the colonial hold Italy had on Eritrea deeply influenced its culture and cuisine which in turn gave Zion the inspiration to bring the best in coffee to Cielo Village in Rancho Santa Fe.
Cielo is an Italian word that means sky, and at Z Private Post and Caffé the sky is the limit when it comes to personality, quality and service.
We look forward to seeing you at Z private Post and Caffé for your personal experience of Tuscany in California!
